How to add a couple widget on iPhone

Home Screen or Lock Screen, in under a minute. Set it up in LoveYug first and the widget fills in straight away.

Quick answer

To add a LoveYug widget on iPhone, first pair with your partner and choose the widget in the app's Little Us tab. Then touch and hold an empty spot on your Home Screen, tap Edit and Add Widget (or + on older iOS), search for LoveYug, pick Now, Vibe or Day Story, choose a size and tap Add Widget.

Before you start

  1. LoveYug installed and signed in on both phones
  2. You and your partner paired
  3. The widget added in Little Us → Add a widget
  4. iOS 16 or later for Lock Screen widgets

LoveYug's widgets show your partner, so they need two things the widget can't do for you: a partner to show, and a choice of which widget you want. That's why the first step happens in the app.

Add it to your Home Screen

  1. Set it up in LoveYug

Open LoveYug, go to Little Us and tap Add a widget. Choose Now, Vibe or Day Story and how it looks.

  2. Touch and hold your Home Screen

Press an empty spot until the apps start to jiggle.

  3. Open the widget gallery

Tap Edit in the top corner, then Add Widget. On iOS 17 and earlier, tap + in the top corner.

  4. Find LoveYug

Search for LoveYug and tap it. Swipe to the widget you set up: Now and Vibe come in small and medium, Day Story in large.

  5. Add it and tap Done

Tap Add Widget, drag it where you want it and tap Done. It fills in with your partner straight away.

Add it to your Lock Screen

Now and Vibe also fit the Lock Screen, on iOS 16 and later with LoveYug Premium.

  1. Touch and hold your Lock Screen

Unlock with Face ID or Touch ID but stay on the Lock Screen, then touch and hold it and tap Customize, then Lock Screen.

  2. Tap the space under the clock

That's where the round and rectangular widgets go. For a single line of text, tap the date above the clock instead.

  3. Find LoveYug and tap Now or Vibe

Now shows their status and the time left; Vibe shows their mood.

  4. Tap Done

Your partner is on your Lock Screen before you even unlock.

If the widget is blank or shows a message

LoveYug's widgets say why they can't draw yet, and each message has one fix.

“Set this up in LoveYug”
Open LoveYug, go to Little Us and add the widget there first. The tile on your Home Screen fills in once it's set up.
“Pair with your partner”
Widgets show your partner, so you need to be paired. Send them your invite link from the app.
“Sign in to LoveYug”
Open the app and sign in with the account you paired on.
“Premium widget — tap to unlock”
Day Story and the Lock Screen widgets need LoveYug Premium. Now and Vibe on the Home Screen are free.
“Update LoveYug to see this”
Your partner is using something newer than your copy of the app. Update LoveYug from the App Store or Google Play.
“Open LoveYug to refresh”
The phone held back an update, often in Low Power Mode or Battery Saver. Opening the app brings the widget up to date.

iPhone widget questions

Why can't I find LoveYug in the widget gallery?

Open LoveYug once after installing or updating it; iOS lists an app's widgets after the app has run. Then search for LoveYug in the gallery.

Can I put more than one LoveYug widget on my Home Screen?

Yes. Many couples keep Now and Vibe side by side as two small tiles, or stack them in a Smart Stack.

Do Lock Screen widgets cost extra?

They're part of LoveYug Premium. Now and Vibe on the Home Screen are free.

How quickly does the widget update?

When your partner changes their status or mood, LoveYug sends your phone an update and the widget redraws, usually within moments. Phones can hold updates back in Low Power Mode or Battery Saver; opening LoveYug brings it up to date.

Does it work on iPad?
